Song Hoi See, a Malaysian Chinese, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Plaza Premium Lounge Management Ltd., is the initiator of operating an airport lounge open to all airport users regardless of airline or class of travel of the passengers. His personal experiences of flying business class and economy class had inspired him to ‘do something for the majority’ – those who fly economy class and those who also need amenities such as a shower facility to freshen up during the long transit, internet connectivity to keep in touch with families and businesses and a place to rest before catching the onward flights.

The first Plaza Premium Lounge was established at Hong Kong International Airport in 1998. The concept of pay-per-use airport lounge open to all travelers has proven to be popular. It is illustrated by the great demand of products like resting area, shower facility, business services, food and beverages, massage services, hair and beauty services and relaxation e.g. TV, newspapers, magazines, music, etc. Particularly for passengers who have a long transit time before catching their onward flights, an intimate lounge where they can spend time to their liking is an oasis in the hectic airport.

Because of our initial success, we have been invited to open Plaza Premium Lounge at other international airports. Headquartered in Hong Kong, we started from one lounge in 1998 and have since then expanded our operations to 60 locations in 17 international airports in 8 countries in a little more than a decade’s time. As a matter of fact, many airport authorities have visited our operations in Hong Kong International Airport and appreciated the comprehensive amenities offered to the travelers.

Furthermore, apart from the airport lounge business operated under the brand names of Plaza Premium Lounge and The Travelers’ Lounge, we have also included hair and beauty services, massage services, fine dining and restaurant business, and other travel-related services to render a truly pleasurable stay to the airport users. Plaza Hair & Beauty Salon, established in 1999, was the first ever salon to open at Hong Kong International Airport. It has now become The Wellness Salon and is intended to provide exclusive services to travelers such as hairstyling, beauty and massage services from head to toe. The Shower and Relaxation Lounge provides relaxing hot showers and private resting areas, and the Green Market is a restaurant featuring Japanese cuisine and salad buffet for health-conscious customers. All of these facilities are designed to provide premium and exclusive services for travelers to relax and groom.

Since March 2008, we have become the main operator of the World Trade Centre – Hong Kong International Airport (WTC-HKIA). It is located at the Airport World Trade Centre consisting of three main sections – G/F Conference Centre, 1/F Business Centre and 7/F Members Club (Airport World Trade Centre Club). The WTC-HKIA is the perfect platform for international business travelers to develop their global commercial projects. The available facilities are therefore conducive to trade, conference and social gatherings.

Airport Premium Services which offer Meet and Greet services upon arrival and departure to airline lounges or Plaza Premium Lounges, baggage handling, chauffeur service and other butler services are indeed value added products. Together, they bring the premium service to a higher level by providing more varied and one-stop services.
